A project such as Wychurst would be nothing without the people who give their time to it. Many people kindly give their time and expertise and on this page some of them will be introduced.

Allan MacVie: The one man scottish powerhouse of labour on the site. When everyone else downs tools to go for lunch, Allan will often be the last. Travelling for aproximatley 3 days just to get to Wychurst he is a more than valuable asset to the team. A solid fellow, who has shifted more than his= fair share of poo, and been an inspiration to the rest of us. Long may he continue his enthusiasm. Allan can be found with the daubers... or inhabiting the sky at night like some form of bear god.
Bryan Hicks: Having Been re-enacting since... well Time began was the last count, Bryan has seen most of it and probably done it as well. An Excellent blacksmith, Bryan has been instrumental in constructing the hinges for the doors and hanging them. Can be found around the site helping with Oil blacking in his almost trademark luminous jacket.
Charlie Culver: Often referred to as the Sphinx (you will find out when you meet him), Charlie is an invaluable worker on the palisade. And the man responsible for starting up the crew that helped scallop and dig out the bag of the longhall and backfill the rest of the palisade. An excellent worker, and man who well deserves his mesure of port around the fire. Can be found telling crude jokes with the rest of the palisaders on the clay pile.
Gavin Archer: Jack of all trades... and master of a fair few, Gav has turned his hands to most things on the site including Daubing, plastering, Palisading, digging, planning and tree clearing to name but a few. Possesed of a keen mind and common sense its more than once that Gav has got us out of a couple of tricky situations.
John Donovan: Also called JD. JD can be found often working hard on the Palisade with the rest of the crew, puling his weight when it comes to the heavy labour and the digging. Keeps the troops entertained with his excellent singing voice and keen sense of humor, and the ability to tell the ultimate Chaucerian joke. A valuable asset to any team on the wychurst work gangs.
Kev Lawless: If its to do with thatching then Kev is your man. Having volounteered to undertake the task of re-thatching the roof of the cottage kev now has an affinity with the longstraw thatch from the wheat. Played an integral part of the Palisade crew and can now be found hanging around on top of the roof shingling with the rest of the flying circus.
Roger Burton: A shingler dyed in the wool, Roger remains as one of the fastest shinglers on the team. Working tirelessly with the rest of the flying circus to make our beloved longhall waterproof. Working in conjunction with our resident human fly Chris Boulton placed the last shingles on the front of the roof in the Summer of 2006. Can be found on the roof pretty much at all times.
Sonny Reae (check the spelling on that mate): With the ability to spot what type of wood or particular timber is from a hundred paces and a crafty nack for working oak Sonny is an excellent craftsmen when it comes to the heavy work around the site involving wood. Can be found around the longhall blending into the wood and playing around with power tools and other things that go whirr and whizz.
Spook And Ash Coleman: Brambles tremble in fear when they hear Spook setting foot on the site for he is the man who the sound of the strimmer is best associated with. An excellent worker who after a session in strimming the brambles can often be mistaken for jack in the green. Can be found by the sound of th strimmer around the burgh.Ash (spooks young lad), is by no means to be underestimated for his size. Pulling more than his weight around the site he is a worthy asset to the palisade crew. Helping to move the generator and mark up the fronts for the planking. Can be found working hard with the boys on the palisade.
Steve Etheridge: Grand high king of poo and master of lime. If its brown and smells this man is the man for the job. A veritable taskmaster and a bit of a machine when it comes to running the poo crew. After helping erect the hall steve took charge of the daubers and rallied an army to his cause and with the help of his crew finished daubing the hall in the work week of 2006... now all he has to do is plaster it.
Gracie!: Mad as a box of frogs... and probably madder to think of it Gracie (not Gavins dog) made herself known in regia and at wychurst by doing some of the craziest things around the site, Including using a childs sandpit as a raft and attempting to sail it around the burgh when the water was high. Grace has turned her hands to many things including shingling, plastering and site clearance. Can normally be found either stuck to the side of the hall covered in lime or swimming in the moat.
Paddy O'Connel: Strong as an ox, and as sharp as oscar wilde Paddy turns his hands to most jobs aroun the site. Plant machinery, palisading, shingling... if its hard work Pat is up for it. Welcome on any team that needs a hand Pat is an excellent worker on site. Can normally be found with the boys on the palisade or driving the plant machinery around the site.
Steph James: High queen of poo and mistress of the lime. Steph along with the rest of the crew has worked tirelessly on the daubing crew lovingly applying the poo to insulate the walls of the hall. And now marked with the task of Plastering it, she takes the bull by the horns and tackles most situations full on. Just dont mention the longhall keys to her... Can be found either covered head to foot (see picture) in poo... or lime whichever takes her fancy for the day.
